Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Berkbrain mobile application, including the Segment Studio features, and to Berkbrain support and privacy webpages.

2. Information processed by Segment Studio

Photos and camera content

Segment Studio allows you to capture new photos and work with images you choose from your device. These images may include products, objects, backgrounds, and other content visible in the image.

Image segmentation, mask creation, and background processing are performed directly on your device. Berkbrain does not receive or store your photos on its servers.

Sessions, groups, and editing information

Information such as session names, image groups, masks, selections, background variants, and export settings is stored locally on your device. This information is not transmitted to Berkbrain.

3. Device permissions

Segment Studio may request permission to use certain device features:

• Camera: Used to capture photos inside the app.
• Photos: Used when you choose to import an image from, or save an image to, your photo library.

You can review or revoke these permissions at any time through the Privacy & Security settings on your device. Some app features may stop working when the relevant permission is disabled.

4. Exports and third-party services

Segment Studio lets you export images using features provided by iOS, including the system share sheet. You may choose to send exported content to services such as Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, Google Drive, OneDrive, or another application installed on your device.

Berkbrain does not control how a destination selected by you handles exported content. Once you send information to another application or service, that provider's privacy policy and terms apply.

5. Information we do not collect

The current version of Segment Studio does not:

• Require or create a Berkbrain user account
• Collect your name, address, phone number, or location
• Upload your photos or segmentation results to Berkbrain servers
• Use third-party advertising networks
• Track you across applications or websites
• Sell or rent personal information
• Use analytics or behavioral profiling

6. Support communications

When you contact Berkbrain by email, we receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, device details, and attachments.

We use this information only to respond to your request, investigate technical problems, protect the app, and maintain an appropriate record of the support interaction.

7. Website hosting

Berkbrain's support and privacy webpages are hosted using Cloudflare Pages. When you visit these webpages, Cloudflare may process ordinary technical request information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as an IP address, browser information, and request metadata.

Cloudflare handles this information under its own Privacy Policy .

8. Data retention and deletion

Information stored on your device

Photos, sessions, masks, variants, and related app information remain on your device until you delete them through the app, remove them from their destination, or uninstall the app.

Uninstalling the app generally removes information stored inside the app's local storage. Images you previously exported to Photos, Files, cloud storage, or another application must be deleted separately from those locations.

Support communications

Support emails are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, protect the service, or comply with legal obligations.

You may request deletion of personal information you provided directly through a support communication by emailing us. We may retain limited information when required by law or when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

9. Privacy choices

You control which photos you import, capture, edit, and export. You can manage camera and photo permissions through your device settings and delete locally stored content through the app or by uninstalling it.

10. Children's privacy

Berkbrain is not directed specifically to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Segment Studio.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support communication, please contact us so that we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information submitted directly to Berkbrain. However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Because Segment Studio processes and stores its working data locally, the security of that information also depends on the security of your device, Apple Account, backups, and any export destination you select.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Segment Studio changes or when legal, operational, or security requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
